Puffins live in the North Atlantic ocean region. 

They return to land after wintering at sea to lay their single egg in a burrow dug into soft turf. Here both parents take part in rearing the chick (puffling). 

One of the largest Puffin colonies in North America can be found in Witless Bay, Newfoundland.
