jas SILKS Security Policy
It has been said (and I agree) that using your credit card on the Internet is not as risky as giving it to a waiter at a restaurant, if BASIC SECURITY MEASURES are taken. The greatest potential risk when shopping online is assessing the credibility of the company you are doing business with.
jas SILKS would like to help you to make this assessment, please check jassilks.com with the "Whois jas SILKS" button on the menu bar. Also on the Order Page you will find a section called "SECURITY AND MERCHANT CREDIBILITY." This section gives our customers information and tools to assess our credibility.
jas SILKS goal is to offer the best possible protection
for our customer personal information, therefore, we will continue to monitor
and constantly improve the security features at our site.
jas SILKS subscribes to secure email

We want our own information protected and will offer no less to our customers.
Test your computer for online security www.grc.com ("Test My Shields" and "Probe My Ports").
Test the level of your Browsers encryption at https://www.fortify.net/sslcheck.html (RC4 cipher, 128-bit key is very good).
Never store your passwords on the computer, write them down and put them in a safe place AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER.
These include turning off "Cookies" (NS, IE), Increasing Browser Security level, Disabling "Active X" controls (IE), disabling "Java and Javascript" (NS, IE).
The best scenario here is to learn how to access these controls and toggle them on/off as required. Documentation found in the help files of the Browsers will help you here but FYI:
Netscape Click EDIT /PREFERECES/ADVANCED to access these controls
Internet Explorer Click TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/SECURITY/INTERNET/CUSTOM LEVEL to access these controls (choose prompt option to be warned when these controls are being used).
Keep in mind that Cookies, Java etc. are used legitimately by many reputable website to give you an enhanced Internet Browsing experience, allow ecommerce to remember what you have order as you shop or to access updates, features etc.
These controls are not all malicious, just
make sure that the site you allow to access these controls is trustworthy!
Many of these issues are discussed on the Internet
( www.smartcomputing.com
"Guide Series: PC Privacy" for example), however, if you have a specific
question please send an email to secureinfo

.
We hope this information will help you to achieve what we all deserve, PRIVACY.
